4/1/2023 0 Comments Reviews companionlink![]() ![]() Those losses are related to Companion Link not working well with the iPhone. I don't miss the Tour but do miss a lot of the capabilities I lost in the transition. When Verizon got IPhones, I converted over. It would not do everything I wanted, but it did do what was promised and what I needed. I have used ACT for years and ACT with Companion Link Pro with my Blackberry Tour for the last two years. There are several other things it will not do, that was just my big deal. Was originally promised, and tech support tried for several weeks but they ultimately sent out a notice and removed it as a feature. ![]() Don't want the Blackberry back, by do want photos badly. My greatest frustration is it will not sync photos as it would with my Blackberry. It is extremely inconvenient but it does work. Then go to Companionlink on PC, reenter at least one number on the network address, then you can sync. To sync over network you must go into set up, select the other sync option, then select network sync again. I have seen minor recent improvements and found work stooges too. (On another note, I will add that I have given up using Outlook Notes in high favor if Evernote.) Great job! Thanks for helping me stay organized. It does what it is designed to do, and there aren't any annoying ads or in app upgrades to buy. I had a good experience with support early on. There are some occasional quirks, but it seems they are addressed and fixed quickly. (ie think OCD-like volume of detail and documentation. It works fine and syncs a very large amount of contacts and calendar events. I have been using thus app for nearly two years, and don't give it a second thought. I am a heavy user of Outlook categories with many categories assigned to contacts, calendar events, and notes. Deja Office and Companion Link are the reason I gave up my outdated Windows phone and switched to the iPhone. After much research, I found DejaOfficeCRMwithPCSync. I held onto my Windows Palm for 7 years (!!!) waiting for a new Windows phone, only to finds that it did not sync with Outlook, unless you were using Exchange. I am seeing a lot of bad reviews, but my experience has been just the opposite. Sorry for taking so long to get to the point. This is just terrible software and CompanionLink is a terrible company to work with. It's poorly written, lacks basic features, somehow slows down the normally fast Ipad and WON'T SYNC! ![]() The only reason you'd use DejaOffice is to use ComanionLink with your exisitng contact manager and a device. 3 weeks into the effort they come up with the "we're working on a fix that the next release will introduce. Just want to get my contacts to sync (both ways) with it.ģ0 days later I still can't get the sync to work, despite working with "3rd level support" and "the developers" from CompanionLink. I still have an old Palm Centro for a phone simply so I didn't have to work with CompanionLink (Chaos's old sync solution still works). ![]() They recommend CompanionLink, that apparently is suitable for many combinations of device & contact software. Their Palm solution has worked flawlessly for years until they decided there were too many devices out here for a small company to internally develop sync solutions for (they're right.). In my case that would be ChaosSoftware's Time & Chaos/Intellect. I would imagine the only reason anyone would try DejaOfficeCRMwithPCSync would be to use an Iphone/Pod/Pad with their exisitng contact management software. Doing a search for CRM or contact manager does not show this product which is a shame because I think a lot of people don't know about this great program and I worry the apple base maybe slow to grow because of this. My only concern is the way it displays in Apple's App. As an example I would like to go directly from calendar and contacts skipping their home page but that's it. As to my wish or improvement would be to be able to switch between the different apps within the program without having to go to their home page first. Great service! And unlike some apps where they won't have an update in a year DejaOffice continues to update and support Apple software changes to ensure their product does not have issues. I have also contacted Support with a question and received a response the same day. It is so complete I am still learning new thing everyday. You can call, email and print most data which is excellent when you need a paper copy or need to send someone information. DejaOffice fit my needs of being able to have a history/journal of events with contacts along with a great search and sort feature. Although DejaOfficeCRMwithPCSync is designed to sync to other products, I find it excellent as a stand alone product for my IPad. ![]()
