3/27/2023 0 Comments G chrono plus![]() ![]() Sport Chrono is required for PSM Sport, but PSM can be switched "off" the same, to the same extent and state, with or without Sport Chrono. The level of "off" that can be achieved is the same, whether the car has Sport Chrono or not. I still think we're still not quite correct here. Please correct me! I know that in a Turbo S (for example), you cannot completely disable ALL the electronic nannies, but the Turbo S does allow for more shenanigans before intervening. I've always thought you can only completely disable ALL electronic nannies (with the exception of ABS) in GT cars (GT3, GT3-RS, GT2-RS, GT4). I honestly didn't know you can completely disable traction and stability control in Sport Chrono 718's. The PSM off light is lit up on the instrument display cluster, but under hard load (continued sliding), another similar light starts blinking in a different spot of the instrument display cluster, letting me know that traction or stability control is intervening to keep me alive. But when I "switch off" PSM and start driving aggressively, 2 things occur: Maybe I'm purposely trying to completely rotate the car, or maybe even burn out from one gear to the next while the tires continuously spin leaving me in control of my own silly destiny. The reason I would like to completely disable the system is because there are times when I want the complete tomfoolery experience. Which is a great safety precaution, and ideal form a Sport driving standpoint, as it does allow the car to rotate, but not enough for you to wrap it around a pole because you have more power shifted to the rear than talent. It does so to prevent you from completely losing control and having the rear end slide all the way out from under you. One of the two, but I cannot identify which.? But it keeps the other one intact. Since I don't have Sport Chrono, when I press the PSM button, it simply disables traction or stability control. The button’s light indicator and the PSM off warning light on the instrument panel light up.Ī message stating that PSM Sport is activated appears on the multifunction display. In PSM Sport mode, the support provided by PSM is restricted in critical driving situations outside the ABS control range.Īlways have PSM Sport switched off during "normal" driving operation. In PSM sport mode, the system operates in a particularly sporty mode. On the previous page of the manual, it states that Sport Chrono is required for "PSM Sport": The light indicator on the button and the PSM OFF warning light in the instrument panel come on.Ī warning appears on the multifunction display indicating that PSM is switched off. Press button briefly (vehicles with Sport Chrono package: Press button for at least two seconds). Does this not correspond to you experience? What makes you identify your alternate mode as "Sport PSM"? The manual suggests that PSM can be switched off in a base car, and provides these instructions. Lastly, are the dynamic transmission mount responses set up any differently in sport and sport plus?Ĭant remember it but i think so, take a look in the manual If drive it hard in sport+ you will feel and hear the difference There aint any Helmholtz resonator as on 981 instead there is the dreaded sound aktor, search the forum for info on how to pull the fuse!Īlso, in Sport Plus, does the PDK actually shift faster in manual mode (time between shifts)? The differences are so small, I find it difficult to sense accurately. The throttel respons in sport is a tad agressive compared to normal and sport+īut in sport+ there is always boost pressure. Is this in fact accurate? If so, is high rpm throttle response better in Sport Plus? ![]() It feels to me that sport has the more agressive throttle setting at tip in and a louder sound setting from the resonator. I have sport chrono, so have been exploring sport and sport plus settings. Question- what are the advantages (aside from launch control) in Sport Plus over Sport? Thanks in large part to the fantastic advice and info here, I decided to retun to the Cayman World, and have a new to me 2017 Cayman PDK, which I absolutely adore. ![]()
